Ok, so If you haven't heard yet the awesome one known as Billy Mays is dead. Now that we got that out of the way.... Wait, you know Santa and the easter bunny aren't real too right?... You didnt.... Well, talk to your mom about it. She's a bitch for not telling you by now.
Anyways, in all seriousness. If you work on computers as much as me you HATE searching for drivers for every god damn device that windows doesn't natively support (which is like everything). I've tried a few differnt methods and I'll go over what I found to work.
Say you are just reinstalling windows or you are upgrading the hard drive, there is a free software called Double Driver. http://double-driver.en.softonic.com/ Double Driver does exactly as it says and makes an executable/ compressed or raw backup of your current windows drivers. This is AWESOME. Click a button, reinstall windows, click another button and you're good to go.
The next thing I use is DriverForge. http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/DriverForge.shtml This uses a user created database of drivers to determine what your PC needs. I wish this came as a complete package but unfortunately you have to download packs individually. Driver packs are available here: http://driverpacks.net/driverpacks/latest and are available via torrent. I downloaded all the newest drivers for win 7 x64 in a half hour on a 20mbps line. One you have your driver packs you do pretty much the same thing and press a button, point to your database, On paper this may sound like a pain in the ass but you'll never have to navigate Dell/ HP/ Sony's shitty direct download or ftp sites again.
If you have any questions, comments or other driver installers let me know.
